Website launch – C. A. Gustafson & Sons

The Gustafson website project has been completed and launched!  Brad does amazing work for world-class companies all over the Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin area.  This three page site is simple, clean and concise.  It reflects the quality and integrity of Gustafsons, and should be a great marketing resource for building their business.

Website launch – Trio Restaurant

The Trio Restaurant website has been completed and launched!  This project came together very quickly, and has many great elements to the site.  The design reflects the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant interior with a custom yellow mottled background and wood texture.  The photos of the interior and food are fantastic.  You can download the menu and get a detailed map as well.  Stop by and have a taste of some great country French and Italian cuisine when you’re passing through Egg Harbor!

Website Maintenance – Lynn Brakke Organic Beef

Lynn contacted me today about an issue with his email.  Somehow he was not getting emails from his host email server, and needed a fix right away.  I replaced the email link on his Contact page with a simple form using a different existing email address for him to receive the form submissions.  It makes it easier for people to use the Contact page, and eliminated the email issue.  This type of maintenance is an example of the customer service that Heydayv Design provides to clients.

New Project – Trio Restaurant

Trio Restaurant is a French-Italian Bistro located in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. They have been open for 18 years serving European country style food and beverages.
Up to this point they did not have a website. Now I will be creating a page for them, simply describing and displaying the interior and some of the regular items that they offer, along with a menu and contact information.
I’m looking forward to the project and to giving Trio a great introduction on the web.

Project Completed – LabelChoices.com Business Cards

Edmond contacted me for a quick re-design of his business card.  The project needed to be started and completed in less than 24 hours, so a lot of intense work began immediately.

Label Choices originalThe business card is intended to be a sort of “catalog” of his company, while providing his contact information.  The card is a folded 4.00 x 3.50 with 4/4 color.  The original layout was covered with all the different items that his company produces, and while it was organized it also looked somewhat cluttered and distracting.

I consulted with him and recommended a serious re-focusing of the message on his card.  We prioritized the various categories and services into four groups, then assigned the area of the business card to each group according to its priority.  The first priority group was given the largest area and so on, down to the last priority group given the smallest area.

The result was a cleaner card with a more focused message that makes a great first impression for Edmond.

Extreme Site Makeover – Voice Overtures

I first designed and launched the Voice Overtures site way back in ‘08.  The website features the voice talent of Fred Tscholl.  He does voice overs, commercials, narrations and voice tracking.

The original site was built using the best of my talents at that time.  I created the page layouts in Photoshop, then pieced it together in GoLive.  The finished product looked good, but was heavy on static graphics for the design and lots of table ( <tr>, <td> ) elements for the structure.

This was one of the last sites that I built using these methods.  Shortly after, and after hours of self study, I broke through to the industry standard of HTML, CSS and DIV elements for structure.  This allowed me to enter the Eden of Web Design, separating design and development into their optimum roles for site creation.

Fred recently decided to add another voice talent to his site.  I reviewed his site and quickly came to the conclusion that a re-development was required.  Fred agreed, and I have begun the work on converting the structure of the site.  The design will remain mostly intact, and a few new functionality features will be added including audio samples embedded into the Home page.

The completed site should be up as soon as the audio files of the new voice talent are ready.

You can keep an eye out for the newly remodeled site at http://www.voiceovertures.com/.

Site Launch – ClassicChristian247.com

The new site for ClassicChristian247.com has launched today.  The site takes you back to the classic rock featuring Christian artists from the late 70’s through the early 2000’s.  Listen to the tunes while you check out the site.  You’ll find Twitter feeds from music artists, trivia about artists and bands, listener comments and a form to suggest a band/artist/song to be added to the playlist.  And of course you’ll find the great classic music!

I contributed to the initial layout of the site structure.  Much of the design portion of the project was a collaborative effort between myself and Mike Schlote of VoiceHangar.  And the ever helpful Bob Grove over at eCredibledesigns added his touch as well.  The development of the pages was my main role, creating the sections, adding scripting, feeds and other functionality such as using PHP for some of the content management.

The finished product has the CHR/Rock station design.  Check it out and enjoy the music!

Heydayv Design arrives in Door County!

For all of our friends who have been following the adventures of the Eash family, we are happy to announce that we have arrived safely in Door County.  This beautiful corner of Wisconsin is our new home.  It sounds so good to say this.  It has been a five year process of planning, positioning, preparation and building connections in order to make this move.  We left family and friends in Michigan almost two years ago, spent our transition months with family and friends in Illinois until the time was right to make our move.

This move puts Heydayv Design into the unique economic environment that Door County offers.  The services that Heydayv Design offers will be an asset to the economic community, and I look forward to providing custom designs for many years to come here in Door County.  It’s great to be here!

New Project – Gustafson Construction

Brad Gustafson contacted me about doing a website for their company.  They build steel buildings, are experts at concrete and specialize in creating facilities for the food processing industry.  I will be producing a custom HTML/CSS website for them to promote their company and to use in coordination with their existing print marketing materials.

Current Project – Buck Vintage Watches website

Jerry wanted an Ecommerce website in order to sell his watches online.  I started out with a logo design for his business. Then we decided on using a WordPress platform for his site.  It involves some unique editing such as replacing the default home page (blogging format) with a static web page and integrating a shopping cart plugin to display and sell his products.  It’s still a work in progress, you can visit http://buckvintagewatches.net to watch it develop.
